About Anne Waxman

Anne is a seasoned practitioner of the Alexander Technique with a deep passion for movement education and mind-body awareness. Her journey began with a background in dance, which led her to explore ways to move more efficiently and prevent injury. After discovering the Technique, she immersed herself in its principles, becoming certified and dedicating her career to helping others find ease and freedom in their movement.

For over four decades, Anne has maintained a private practice in New York City while sharing her expertise with students and professionals around the world. She has worked extensively with performing artists—musicians, actors, and dancers—guiding them toward improved posture, coordination, and breath control to enhance their craft. Her work has also extended to professionals in specialized fields such as dentistry and therapy, helping them manage the physical demands of their work with greater efficiency and less strain.

Anne has taught in a diverse range of settings, including master classes, music conservatories, university workshops, and acting schools. She has served on the faculty of several Alexander Technique teacher training programs in addition to her signature one-on-one private lessons. Anne’s approach is intuitive and informed, shaped by deep experience and a commitment to continuous learning. She believes in the transformative power of this work and its ability to improve physical movement and overall well-being. Through a combination of guidance and practical application of the Alexander Technique, Anne helps students unravel restrictive habits, improve self-awareness, and restore their natural poise. She sees Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy as a potent adjunct that marshals the inherent capacity of every individual to heal.
