Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance, release tension, and promote deep relaxation. The modality is based on the teachings of osteopathic physicians, A.T. Still, D.O. and W.G. Sutherland, D.O.

It uses a subtle rhythm of the body to relieve stresses and strains that have accumulated either recently or over many years. By tuning into this subtle rhythm through light contact, BCST can promote self-healing and play a vital role in our health and well being.

What Happens in a Session?

A BCST session is a deeply calming experience where you typically lie fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner makes light contact with different areas of the body, such as the head, spine, and sacrum. Through this contact, you may experience:

  • A rebalancing of the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Enhanced fluid circulation and tissue hydration, promoting overall well-being.
  • A profound sense of stillness and relaxation.
  • Gentle unwinding of stored physical and emotional tension.

The Role of Subtle Contact in BCST

Unlike other bodywork methods that involve manipulation, BCST uses subtle touch to listen to the body’s rhythms and facilitate self-correction. The practitioner follows the body’s innate ability to reorganize and restore itself rather than imposing external force.

The Goal of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

BCST helps to create a sense of deep rest and healing, allowing the body to let go of stored tension and stress. It is beneficial for individuals experiencing chronic pain, fatigue, headaches, trauma recovery, and nervous system imbalances. The therapy promotes a state of balance and ease, supporting long-term well-being on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.
